About
Chloe Patience is an award winning textile designer who specializes in unique hand embroidery and embellishment for the fashion and interiors market on a freelance basis. Chloe also offers bespoke services to the public.
After gaining her BA( Hons) and M(Des) Postgraduate degree in Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art and Edinburgh College of Art, Chloe joined forces with friend and co designer Mhairi McNicol to create the acclaimed hosiery and body wear label 'bebaroque' in 2007.
bebaroque was stocked in the worlds leading luxury department stores such as Harrods, Liberty's and Selfridges in London and overseas stores such as KA DE WE, Lane Crawford, Ikram and Curve. Chloe's eye catching designs have been worn both on and off stage by many musical artists such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Ellie Goulding and Christina Aguilera.
bebaroque closed its trading business in 2013 and after taking some time to start a family, Chloe has now started to focus on her freelance embroidery design, offering a truly unique and delicate approach to any given project. Recent projects with well known companies, from both the fashion and interiors world, include Wolford, Timorous Beasties, Nobody & Co, Bluebellgray, Harvey Nichols Edinburgh.
" I can not imagine working in any other field than the creative world. I see inspiration in everyday life and I am most happy when I am in the midst of a creative project, experimenting with beading and stitch to create something really unique and magical. Central to my practice led research is the development and application of print and hand embroidered embellishment, extending the possibility of body decoration aesthetics. Unique decoration for the skin and creating otherworldly vision through embellishment is something that is ever challenging and a compelling point of interest to me. I aspire to push the boundaries of functional fashion and textiles whilst consistently developing couture elements in my work."
